About Floris
I work as a software developer at De Duurzame Oplossing, on software, AI applications and platforms for sustainability and energy. Alongside that I build software with AI agents. That is how Wantzel came about: it began as a strict, fast compiler for code that AI writes and grew into a studio where AI agents do the work while you watch.
Before I taught machines work, I taught people work: I supervised day programmes and work-based learning. It turns out to be the same question: how do you make a task small and clear enough to succeed?
In From Zero to AI Agents That Do The Work I describe how one person with an empty machine ends up with an organization of agents that has a goal, a budget, limits and a memory, with every number, including what went wrong.
My journey
My work seems to have changed: geographic asset maps, information security, teaching people, business software and now AI agents. But the question underneath stayed the same: how do you make work clear enough to trust?

Software Engineering degree
university of applied sciences · graduation project: a mobile geographic information system
I graduated on a mobile geographic information system: linking information to a place, so you can use it on the spot.
Information is useful only when it reaches the right place and the right people.
- 2004 – 2015
Information systems at the province
information management and geo-information · roads, waterways and public space
I built information systems for roads, waterways and public space: systems that last for years, with many users and consequences outside the computer.
A system is only finished when it works in the real process.
- 2013 – 2015
Information Security Officer
province · ethical hacking and hacking forensics
Alongside that work I was Information Security Officer. Ethical hacking and hacking forensics taught me to look for misuse and reconstruct what went wrong.
Reliability also means knowing where things can go wrong.
- 2015 – 2019
Teaching: training and work-based learning
Scauting Talent and codeGorilla · as trainer and coach
I organised and taught work-based learning and web development programmes, for job seekers and people with autism. I learned to make complex work small and clear.
A task succeeds sooner when someone knows where to start.
- 2020 – 2025
Web applications and system integrations
Coolminds · for companies, governments and startups
I built business web applications and connected systems to each other. They had to fit real teams and processes.
Technology gains value when people can use it every day.
- 2025 – 2026
Testing GenAI at Rabobank
BPM Company · for Rabobank
Through BPM Company, I helped teams at Rabobank with GenAI-based software testing.
An AI answer is only useful once you can check it.

Software and AI, employed
De Duurzame Oplossing · software developer, sustainability and energy
I build software, AI applications and platforms.
By day I help build software that is needed today.
- alongside my job
My own work with AI agents
the book, Wantzel and Wantzel Studio
In the evenings I use AI to build my own work. The same principles as in today's job, taken a step further.
In the evenings I build what should become possible tomorrow.
Where this route leads
I build systems in which people and agents can work effectively together. Faster, and with clear responsibility and control.
What a day looks like
- by day
Employed
Building, reading, testing, talking. Software for sustainability and energy.
- evenings
Own work
Wantzel, the studio, the book. Setting up jobs for the robots so they can carry on overnight.
- at night
The robots work
I sleep. What I set up in the evening, I check over breakfast.
- a free day
By the water
Trout fishing, and a few quick instructions for the agents.
How I work
In systems
The whole: goal, limits, money and memory.
Measure first
Rather a number than a feeling. Even when the number disappoints.
Make my own tools
If what exists falls short, I build it. That is how Wantzel came about.
Mistakes become lessons
Every mistake gets written down, so next time it goes right.
