Agents that help recruit people: the framework before you start

One step I can imagine is an agent helping to find people: for a permanent role, or for a job. A director for an organisation. Someone to renovate a building. In my book The Autonomous AI Company this appears as a case at Sawasara.
This is not an announcement and not a plan. I am writing down the framework I want in place before an agent is allowed anywhere near this. The rules come first.
What an agent can prepare
A lot of the work is research, and an agent is good at that:
- where to post such a role or job, and what terms a platform has;
- roughly what it costs to post;
- what a usual rate is, with the source;
- a draft vacancy in plain language;
- which questions you want to ask candidates.
Every result has a source and a date. If the agent does not know something, it says so.
What stays with a human
Posting a vacancy, approaching someone, holding an interview, signing a contract and paying: a human does that. An agent is not a party to an employment relationship or an assignment. Whoever recruits is a person or an organisation.
People deserve care
Whoever responds to a vacancy hands over personal details. They do not belong in text that circulates freely, and not with more roles than necessary. A vacancy text also needs a check for language that excludes people. That needs a check that does not come from the model itself.
The terms of platforms
A job platform or odd-jobs site has its own rules, for example about automated use. You read those before an agent does anything with them. If something is not allowed, an agent does not do it.
The same ladder as with the server
The pattern is the same as the first steps in this series: a ceiling, a human who says yes, keys out of sight and a check that proves something. Each rung gets the room you can verify.
What you can take from this
- Let an agent only prepare and research, with a source per line.
- Keep posting, approaching, signing and paying with a human.
- Keep personal details out of text that circulates.
- Read the platform's terms before you start.
- Write down the check before you begin.
Which recruiting in your organisation takes the most research time now, and where does a human always have to sit? I am happy to discuss that with you in an Expert Day.
