I graduated on a mobile geographic information system: linking information to a place, so you can use it on the spot.
Information is useful only when it reaches the right place and the right people.

I built information systems for roads, waterways and public space: systems that last for years, with many users and consequences outside the computer.
A system is only finished when it works in the real process.

Alongside that work I was Information Security Officer. Ethical hacking and hacking forensics taught me to look for misuse and reconstruct what went wrong.
Reliability also means knowing where things can go wrong.
